Amy, a true “Maxxinista” noted for her excellent taste, managed the TJ Maxx in Valdosta for over 25 years while also following her passion for fashion. She was so graceful and self-assured that cheetah print and high heels became her trademark.

Managerially, Amy was admired by both her employees and the company’s clientele. Her generosity and warmth left an unforgettable imprint on her workplace and neighborhood.
Amy’s relentless dedication to the people and causes she cared about will be sorely missed by her loved ones and the communities she served. Amy’s husband Michael Hires, sons Gage and Bradyn, and granddaughter Norah Barnes all predeceased her. Family, friends, and the many people she helped will keep her legacy alive. Funeral ceremonies to celebrate Amy’s life will be place on November 22, 2023, at Lenox Baptist Church, a fitting tribute to a woman whose impact will resound for years to come.
