Goldie Cool Obituary, Death – On November 17, 2023, 93-year-old Core, West Virginia resident Goldie Fay Cool died quietly surrounded by her family. She died in Morgantown’s Sundale Nursing Home. Goldie was born in Hacker Valley on September 29, 1930, to deceased Jasper Newton and Roena Ester Cowger Carpenter. On June 3, 1996, the subject lost her parents and her loving husband Charles E. Cool. The subject’s infant son Archie E. Cool, brothers Hubert Carpenter and Opha Carpenter, sisters Edna Simmons, Macil Simmons, Alta Cogar, and Bertha Simmons died before her.

Goldie was a sister, wife, mother, great-memaw, and great-great-memaw, as well as an aunt to several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Goldie cleaned for various people after retiring, building family bonds. She worked 26 years at University Hospital and West Virginia University’s Physical Education Department. Her sisters, Alma Anderson (Hacker Valley) and Margie (Wib) (Cleveland, WV), and brother, Olen Carpenter, live there.
The individual also has granddaughters Carrie Wilson (married to Greg Wilson) from Jakes Run and Casey Shaver from Core. Jay Wilson from Core and Cody Wilson (married to Madison Wilson) from Jakes Run are great-grandsons. Marshall and Grant Wilson are his great-great-grandsons. Finally, her family has many loving nieces and nephews. Pastor Chris Cosner will officiate the 1:00 PM funeral at Dodd and Reed Funeral Home on November 22, 2023. Ware Cemetery in Hacker Valley will hold a burial.
