Ms. Carol Carter Obituary, Death – The families of Carter and Culp are grieving the loss of their matriarch, Ms. Carol Carter, who passed away at the age of 88. Ms. Carter passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, and her legacy will forever be marked by her commitment to teaching and helping others. On Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 3 p.m., family and friends are invited to attend a funeral ceremony at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Bishopville to celebrate her extraordinary life.

A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall after the service, where friends and family can come to honor Ms. Carter and her life’s work. The service will be led by the Rev. Denise Seymour. Ms. Carter’s funeral will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, SC on Thursday, November 30, 2023. Pollard Funeral Home will help organize this farewell ceremony.

Ms. Carter was born on January 12, 1935 to parents Perry True Carter and Sara Kirkpatrick Carter in Chicago, Illinois. Carol taught for 30 years, making an indelible impression on her students in Virginia, Connecticut, and North Carolina’s capital city of Raleigh, where she was named Teacher of the Year in 1968. Ms. Carter has been a dedicated member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church for over 22 years,

during which time she has sang beautifully in the choir and has never missed a Sunday School class. To carry on Ms. Carter’s legacy of devotion and dedication to the community she loved, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, P.O.
