Ron Pollard Obituary, Death – The Minoa Fire Department is deeply saddened by the news of Ron Pollard’s death; he was a respected member of the team and an inspiration to many others in the fire service. Ron, who started working for the department in August of 1968, retired in January of 2007 after having served for an astounding 55 years.

Ron served in a number of capacities and made substantial contributions to the development of the department during his long and distinguished career there. At the time of his death, he was serving as the Secretary of the Benevolent Association of the Fire Department where he had previously served as Deputy Chief of Fire and President of the Incorporation.
Because of Ron’s dedication and leadership, the Minoa Fire Department will never be the same, and he is looked up to as a hero by his peers. Beyond his formal positions, Ron was a brother, a wonderful friend, and a mentor to many within the department. His legacy will be one of unconditional service to others and selflessness. In light of this tragic news, the Minoa Fire Department asks that the community hold the Pollard family in their prayers.
