Ron served in a number of capacities and made substantial contributions to the development of the department during his long and distinguished career there. At the time of his death, he was serving as the Secretary of the Benevolent Association of the Fire Department where he had previously served as Deputy Chief of Fire and President of the Incorporation.

Because of Ron’s dedication and leadership, the Minoa Fire Department will never be the same, and he is looked up to as a hero by his peers. Beyond his formal positions, Ron was a brother, a wonderful friend, and a mentor to many within the department. His legacy will be one of unconditional service to others and selflessness. In light of this tragic news, the Minoa Fire Department asks that the community hold the Pollard family in their prayers.
